Forse non tutti in Italia conoscono i Saint Motel, ma tutti hanno sentito almeno una volta la loro hit “My Type“!E’ davvero impossibile entrare in un posto senza sentirla: bar, centri commerciali, sigla di programmi televisivi, My Type con il suo ritmo travolgente ed estivo, fa divertire e innamorare l’ascoltatore il quale poi, non riesce più a farne a meno.
Gruppo da ”One Hit Wonder”? No. I Saint Motel, sono sulla scena dal 2012 con il loro primo album “Voyeur” (e da allora la formazione non è più cambiata ndr), si preparano a far uscire il nuovo album, sulla scia dell’EP di ”My Type”, che già contiene pezzi davvero curiosi e interessanti quali ”Cold Cold Man” e ”Ace In The Hole”. Abbiamo incontrato i Saint Motel in occasione del lancio del nuovo flagship store di H&M a Milano, dove siamo riusciti a scambiare quattro chiacchiere con A/J Jackson! My Type sta andando piuttosto bene in Italia. Cosa si prova ad essere qui?

E’ bellissimo! Amiamo davvero tanto l’Italia! La prima volta che siamo venuti qui, è stato un mese fa… Sembra passato tantissimo tempo! Amiamo la vostra accoglienza, sembra sempre di ritornare a casa quando veniamo qui! Il vostro singolo si sente ovunque, ormai è una sorta di Inno qui in Italia. Quando arriverà il disco?
Uscirà presto un nuovo singolo qui in Italia, e stiamo anche lavorando al nuovo disco… Usciranno progetti dei quali sono molto contento e di cui vado fiero, sarà divertente! Per il disco penso che si parlerà di primavera/estate del prossimo anno, ma ovviamente prima usciranno anche altri singoli! Vi esibirete alla finale di X Factor, al Mediolanum Forum di Milano, una delle arene più grandi di tutto il paese! Qual è il posto più grande dove vi siete mai esibiti?
Penso a Zurigo, ma al Forum sarà più grande! Si parla di più di diecimila persone, sarà pazzesco, non vedo l’ora!
A pleasant disclosure: Saint Motel
Perhaps not everyone in Italy knows the “Saint Motel”, but I’m sure that everyone has heard at least once their Hit “My Type”!It’s impossible to get into a place without hearing it: pubs, radio, shopping malls, theme songs in commercials; “My Type” with its overwhelming rhythm make the listener involved into a summer, chilling and groovy feeling that everyone can’t help listening to it!
Are they a “One hit Wonder” group? NO. The Saint Motel are on the scene since 2012 with “Yes”, and they revealed they are working on the new album which will include the mainstream single that came with the EP, “My Type” adding other cool tracks as “Cold Cold Man” and “Ace In The Hole” with its beautiful lyrics.
We met the Saint Motel thanks to the new H&M flagship store in Piazza Duomo in Milan, where we had the chance to have a little talk with A/J Jackson (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards)! “My Type” is doing very well in Italy, how does it feel to be here?
Hi! It feels great, we love Italy. The first time we arrived here was like a month ago and it feels like so long ago and we came back like a homecoming thanks to Italian audience’s welcome! Your hit is everywhere, at the moment is a sort of anthem here in Italy. When is the new album coming?
Hopefully pretty soon is coming a new song here in Italy, but we’re working on the new album right now and we’re pretty excited about it; it’s gonna be fun. Probably it’ll be out for 2015 summer and some other singles before the full length album!
You will be performing a gig at the Italian X Factor final rush, in one of the biggest arena in Italy: The Mediolanum Forum. Which is the biggest place where you have ever performed?
Perhaps it was in Zurich, but at the Mediolanum Forum it’ll be up there, about 12.000 people! It will be crazy, can’t wait for it!
